- Challenge
- A system that still ran daily operations could no longer change at the speed the organisation needed. A full rewrite was politically attractive and operationally reckless.
- Approach
- We assessed the current landscape, identified the seams where new capability could be introduced, and planned modernization in slices that could ship independently.
- Technology
- API layer, modular services, database modernization, containerization, cloud migration, automated tests around critical paths.
- Solution
- A documented modernization programme: first an anti-corruption API, then extraction of the highest-friction capabilities, with the existing system remaining available throughout.
- Outcome
- Delivery unblocked, risk reduced, and a core system that can evolve instead of being frozen because nobody dares to touch it.
Legacy work is mostly about judgement. The code is rarely the only problem. The problem is coupling, missing tests, unclear ownership and a business that cannot pause.
OmniStack’s modernization work is deliberately unspectacular: assess, isolate, replace in order of business value, keep a rollback, measure as you go. That is how you modernise a system people still depend on on a Monday morning.
